Substitute Preschool teacher |
Main Duties |
- Daily interaction with 2s & 3s and primary face-to-face contact with parents & caregivers.
- With the director, plan and execute a curriculum based on a variety of pedagogical approaches.
- Create and maintain a safe, caring and stable environment for children.
- Work directly with children and their families ensuring their physical, emotional, and intellectual needs are met.
- Undertake the care and supervision of individual children and groups both within and outside the Center.
- In line with agreed policies and procedures, to ensure that the rules governing safety/security are adhered to at all times.
- To establish caring relationships with the children and assist them in finding solutions to problems they encounter with one another and within the program.
- To promote contact with family members and other significant persons as appropriate.
- To ensure that the rights of children are respected and that they are not subjected to any forms of abuse.
- Ensure compliance with the provisions of relevant legislation.
- Other duties as directed by the Center Director or Head Teacher.

Requirements: |
- Education: Bachelor's degree in ECE preferred; education, special education, psychology, or other related degree may substitute, dep. on other qualities and experience of candidate.
- Minimum experience: 2+ years of in-class teaching experience.
- Flexibility with working arrangements.
- Professional knowledge of assessment procedures and behavioral management a plus. |

| |
ISEE Tutor (on-call, part-time) |
Main Duties |
- Understand the content and pedagogy behind the Independent Schools Entrance Exam;
- Proctor the three-hour practice exam;
- Score each student's exam;
- Work one-on-one with up to four students in mentorship/guidance role to teach level-appropriate material and critical thinking skills behind sample questions;
- Provide encouragement, prompts, pedagogical dialogue between students and facilitator
- Possess solid skills and aptitude for teaching at least three or more of the following: math (through algebra II), writing, vocabulary (Latin, Greek roots/suffixes), English grammar, science (physics, chemistry, geology, biology), and/or study/research skills;
- Ideally would possess training and/or education in measurement tools for quantifying and qualifying statistical data, such as that presented in an assessment;
- To establish a caring relationships with each student and assist them in finding solutions to problems they encounter with one another and within the program;
- To promote contact with family members, school faculty, and other significant persons as appropriate;
- To ensure that the rights of children are respected and that they are not subjected to any forms of abuse;
- To work within the policies and procedures of the program;
- To be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the premises, furniture, and equipment, as well as adherence to local safety standards specified by regulations;
- In line with agreed policies and procedures, to ensure that the rules governing safety/security are adhered to at all times. |

SAT Tutor (on-call, part-time) |
Main Duties |
- Solid understanding of the College Board's Scholastic Aptitude Test;
- At least two years' experience teaching, tutoring, counseling or coaching;
- Strong academic background and high SAT, ACT, or GRE scores (95th percentile);
- Completion of at least two years of college required;
- Strong desire to be a role model/mentor to high school students ranging from goal-oriented and driven to lackadaisical and uncertain;
- Work one-on-one with up to three students in mentorship/guidance role for academic work;
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage a student's attention are a must;
- Possess solid skills and aptitude for teaching at least three or more of the following: math, writing, language (French, Spanish), English grammar, science (physics, chemistry, geology, biology), and/or study/research skills
- Ideally would possess training and/or education in measurement tools for quantifying and qualifying statistical data, such as that presented in an assessment;
- To ensure that the rights of children are respected and that they are not subjected to any forms of abuse;
- To work within the policies and procedures of the program. |

- To work within the policies and procedures of the program.
- To be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the premises, furniture, vehicles and equipment and adherence to local authority fire safety and other standards specified by regulations.
- In line with agreed policies and procedures, to ensure that the rules governing safety/security are adhered to at all times.
- Ensure compliance with the provisions of relevant legislation. |

Requirements: |
- Education: Bachelor's degree in subject area and/or education, special education, math, science, psychology, or other related degree.
- Minimum experience: One or more years of teaching experience preferred (i.e., classroom; day camp; tutoring; mentoring; school volunteering; etc.); curriculum development.
- Flexibility with working arrangements.
- Ability to travel to various sites to work with students.
- Criminal and professional background check and fingerprinting of all applicants.
- Professional knowledge of assessment procedures and behavioral management a plus. |

Additional Information: |
Hours: Vary. Afternoons, evenings, and Saturday mornings.
Pay scale: $12.00-25.00/hr.
